The difference lies in the focus: Engineering Management emphasizes the engineering stage of innovation, while Industrial Engineering focuses more on the production or operational stage.

At the time of application, do I directly choose the desired study program, or must I first apply to the faculty?

For the undergraduate program, prospective students must first apply to the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI). Specialization into the Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management study program will only take place at the beginning of the second year, based on the GPA of the first-year (TPB) courses and order of preference. Students are not allowed to choose across campuses (FTI Ganesha and FTI Jatinangor), except for those who have selected a specific track at the time of initial admission within the study program scope.

How is the specialization process at the beginning of the second year carried out by the faculty?

The selection of study programs is conducted through questionnaires in three stages: at the beginning of semester 1 (new student admission), at the beginning of semester 2, and before the Final Exams of semester 2. Based on these three questionnaires, at the end of the second semester, students will be assigned to a study program according to the order of preference, first-year academic performance, and available capacity. The final order of preference is based on the last questionnaire.

Is there a double-degree program in the undergraduate program?

Currently, there is no double-degree program for undergraduate studies. Double-degree programs are only available at the postgraduate level (Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management).
